In the ongoing campaign to get WB to #ReleasetheSnyderCut of the not-so-good Justice League, Jason Momoa, Gal Gadot, and Ben Affleck have all joined in the resounding chorus. Seriously, the hashtag just won’t die and fans won’t give the damn thing a rest. Even Watchmen showrunner Damon Lindelof posted about it and he DOESN’T EVEN GO HERE. Anyway, only Henry Cavill has any goddamn sense because even if the Snyder Cut was released, “it’s not going to change anything.” THANK YOU, HENRY!

We all remember Zack Snyder had to drop out of directing Justice League due to a family tragedy and Warner Bros. hired Joss Whedon to pick up where he left off, yes? Good. Since then, fans thought it wise to continue pestering the Powers That Be by constantly not shutting up about this elusive Snyder Cut. It’s like fans truly believe WB’s been holding the Snyder Cut hostage on purpose or something, just to piss them off.

Does this version of the movie even EXIST? According to Justice League composer Danny Elfman, who took over composing duties from Junkie XL after Joss Whedon was hired, it doesn’t. In an interview on The Big Reviewski podcast, Elfman, like Henry Cavill, isn’t so sure that the Snyder Cut is even a real thing because, simply put, the director never ACTUALLY finished the movie.

“Well, the thing is, he never finished it. So, I don’t know quite how they’d do [a Snyder cut]. He had a tremendous tragedy, which forced him to not finish the film. I don’t quite understand this, because it wasn’t like he was fired, and that there is a Director’s Cut that is a finished movie and that the studio fired him and then hired Joss [Whedon].”

Yes, Jason Momoa claims he saw the Snyder Cut, but Danny Elfman genuinely believes that whatever the actor saw wasn’t even a finished product. This is from someone who actually worked on the film post-production, so he knows this. Honestly, Elfman chiming in helps to put things into perspective and just goes to show that the version fans are clamoring for isn’t the version they think it is. Even fanboy director Kevin Smith said the Snyder Cut was a rough cut and nothing more. So, at this point, what the HELL is all the continued hubbub about??? If I were more hopeful, I’d tell you fans would move on and let this go, but we all know better than that.
