You all remember the 1990s kid’s movie starring Sinbad called Shazam, right? No, of course not. Only half of you remember, because sometime in the late 1990s, half the Earth’s population switched bodies with their counterparts in an alternate universe where Shazam was a minor hit, and only those of us who lived in the alternate universe remember it. It’s called the Mandela Effect, which people try to insist is a “collective false memory,” but in fact refers to real-life body switching. I used to live in that other universe, where we spelled Berenstein Bears correctly.

However, it appears that we are soon going to cycle through another Mandela Effect, brought upon by the release of another movie called Shazam, starring this generation’s Sinbad, Zachary Levi. This first image of the movie has been released, and here it is compliments of EW:

See how it is specifically designed to look cheap and fake so that when we switch back into the other universe, the powers that be will be able to convince us that our memory of Levi’s Shazam was a collective false memory? Don’t let them trick you into believing it. This Shazam is as real as the Sinbad Shazam.

When you get back to that other dimension, that image of Levi in his suit will be the only memory you have left of the film, which will not exist over there. The people over there will try to convince you that you’ve mistaken Shazam for George Michael Bluth’s muscle suit. Don’t fall for it.

For the half of you who will remain in this universe after the next Mandela Effect, well, enjoy? I guess. Shazam will be released in April of 2019, but by then, half of us will be gone. I hope you enjoy living with our counterparts.
