Nominations for the 2018 Golden Globes, hosted by Andy Samberg and Sandra Oh, were announced this morning. The ceremony will be held on Sunday, January 6, 2019. As the year comes to a close, the nominations are designed to make you feel anxious about all the shows you neglected to watch this year. Don’t worry. That anxiety will pass momentarily, once you realize that many of the shows you do watch (Atlanta) are much better than what was nominated (Kidding). Also, Alienist was kind of boring and Seven Seconds — while very good — has already been cancelled. Also, there’s way too much love on this list for The Kominsky Method — it should have been Alan Arkin, and that’s it. But hey: Killing Eve, Sandra Oh, The Americans (and Keri and Matthew), and Succession are here, so I can’t be too mad.

Oh wait, what the hell? NO BETTER CALL SAUL?!

Burn it to the ground.

The enthusiasm that the awards people have been having for Green Book, however, is embarrassing. It’s The Help all over again.

And yes: Isle of Dogs was released this year. I’m as surprised as you.
