Yesterday, Twitter users were baffled when a Pro-Trump account offered up a video gleefully comparing the president to Avengers: Endgame villain Thanos. In the tweet, Donald Trump’s head was roughly superimposed over the purple genocidal maniac as the MCU character snaps his fingers and proclaims, “I am inevitable.” Then it cuts to Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi turning to ash and blowing away like so much Spider-Man.
House Democrats can push their sham impeachment all they want.

The tweet was meant to suggest the Democrats’ introduction of articles of impeachment against the president won’t stop Trump in his 2020 re-election bid. But it had many Twitter users questioning if @TrumpWarRoom understood the Marvel meme they were employing.
Here are some highlights in the replies.

Thanos’s creator was not so amused.
Comic book writer and artist Jim Starlin dreamed up this tyrannical titan in 1973. Asked about this bizarre campaign video, he told THR:
“After my initial feeling of being violated, seeing that pompous fool using my creation to stroke his infantile ego, it finally struck me that the leader of my country and the free world actually enjoys comparing himself to a mass murderer. How sick is that? These are sad and strange times we are going through. Fortunately, all things, even national nightmares, eventually come to an end.”
