We’ve known for a while now that the upcoming animated feature Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse would feature a few spider folk. It’s a parallel-dimensional team-up centered on Miles Morales (Shameik Moore), who joins forces with Peter Parker (Jake Johnson) and Spider-Gwen herself, Gwen Stacy (Hailee Steinfeld), to save the world… and the other worlds as well. But, like, there are A LOT of spidery heroes in the Marvel catalog, and this latest trailer is proof that a few more of them are coming out to play. Take a look:
The gentleman in the overcoat is Spider-Man Noir, and he’s voiced by (*screaming internally) Nicolas Cage. The gentlepig is Peter Porker, AKA Spider-Ham, and he’s voiced by John Mulaney. And just to make sure Gwen isn’t alone in this sausage party (HAM JOKE), Peni Parker is joining the fun, as voiced by Kimiko Glenn.
Rounding out the stupidly talented voice cast is Liev Schreiber as The Kingpin, Lily Tomlin as Aunt May, Mahershala Ali as Aaron Davis, and Brian Tyree Henry as Jefferson Davis.
Look, I was already gonna see this movie. They really didn’t need to show me a talking pig and Cage Noir to get me to buy a ticket. But it’s safe to say that now I’m even more excited — and also I really want Gwen’s haircut.
Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse will be in theaters December 14th. Or “Christmas” according to the trailer.
