Remember when the Duchess of Sussex acted? Like many jobbing actresses of her age and range, Meghan Markle’s career outside of Suits is mostly defined by one-off appearances in TV series, Hallmark movies, and the kinds of indies that you’ll probably never see unless someone in them becomes a British Royal and you need to write her biography. When the marriage of Markle to Prince Harry was announced, it didn’t take long for some savvy distributors to repackage some of her old little-seen movies and get them DVD releases. Here in the UK, you could buy the film Random Encounters, with box art that puts Meghan front and centre with a tagline about romance being a ‘royal pain’. She’s not the star of the film (she’s actually the best friend) and royalty has nothing to do with it but hey, you gotta have a gimmick.

Now, another film she had a tiny part in is getting North American distribution, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The Boys and Girls Guide to Getting Down is described on IMDb as ‘funny and somewhat outrageous’, showing a series of characters through a wild night of partying in Los Angeles. This film actually came out in 2011. The cast also features Adam Pally and Max Greenfield, but I’m not sure they’re the reason this got picked up at Berlin a whole 8 years after it was first released.

Yeah, this looks pretty bad.

Expect this to get maybe a 1 screen L.A. release before being farmed out to Netflix or that cable station you never watch.
