Last fall at Fantastic Fest, genre fans were roaring with laughter and terror over Anna and the Apocalypse, a zombie movie musical set during Christmas and stuffed full of angsty, singing/dancing teens. Yet this bizarre Scottish gem didn’t have a U.S. distribution deal in place. Following the rave reviews and raucous audience reactions, many at the fest assumed a deal would be announced any day. But weeks and months passed without a word. Until now.

Deadline reports Orion Pictures has snatched the North American and Latin American rights to Anna And The Apocalypse and plans to unveil this fucked-up teen comedy next holiday season.

The bad news is we have to wait. The good news is you’ll get the chance to see this totally bonkers movie in theaters. And do that, because a cast this good, a story this wild, and music this catchy demands the big screen, and an amped audience.
