Oh No! The 'Road House' Trailer Looks Like a Blast!

Oh no! I had every intention of hating the new Road House trailer out of respect for Patrick Swayze and the original, but Doug Liman and Jake Gyllenhaal have gone and made that impossible! Damnit! It looks fun as hell. And it’s got, like, every semi-familiar B-movie character actor from the last five years in it, too — it’s a veritable, “I know that guy! And that guy! And that guy, too!”

I think, and I hope this doesn’t come off as sacrilege, but I think that Doug Liman may have captured the spirit of the original. I’m sorry! Please don’t boycott the site! At least not until you’ve watched the trailer.

Road House streams exclusively on Prime on March 21st because Bezos is too dumb to put it where it belongs: In theaters, on the big screen. (In fact, Doug Liman is skipping the premiere to protest the fact that it’s going straight to streaming).
