At SXSW this year, Lupita Nyong’o awed audiences with her double-take performance in Jordan Peele’s harrowing horror film Us. But jaw-dropping terror wasn’t the only kind of fun this Academy Award-winner brought to the fest. She also offered Little Monsters, a quirky zombie comedy in which she stars as a ukelele-playing kindergarten teacher who must defend her young students when the undead take over a local petting zoo.

Since Dustin and I saw Little Monsters last spring, we’ve been eagerly awaiting its arrival in theaters. Well, the wait is almost over. Hulu has announced their release plans for this Aussie comedy from writer/director Abe Forsythe, along with a red-band trailer.

Check it out (NSFW for violence, gore, and f-bombs):

The trailer hints at the irreverent fun, radiant sweetness, and gleeful gore of Little Monsters. Plus, it introduces Josh Gad as two-faced kids’ show host Teddy McGiggle. There are more surprises and madness in store that the trailer doesn’t tip.

You can see it all when Little Monsters hits Hulu on October 11. Or you can be a part of the special one-night-only theatrical event on October 8, which will feature a live-stream Q&A with the cast and their director. Tickets for this event can be found here.
