Remember the kid from Love Actually? He’s engaged to Elon Musk’s ex-wife now. Feel old yet?
Yes, Thomas Brodie-Sangster, the child star who portrayed the most romantic character in one of the best romcoms of all time, is finally off the market. The adults flailing at love in that movie had nothing on that kid. He spent weeks learning to play the drums so he could back his crush at the Christmas concert, then ran through the pre-9/11 airport just to give her a kiss. People simply don’t date like that anymore. Well, in the case of the thing with the airport, they can’t, but still.
Brodie-Sangster met Talulah Riley on the set of the FX series, Pistol, in which they played another couple, the manager of the Sex Pistols Malcolm McLaren, and fashion designer Vivienne Westwood. There was some PDA after that, but their romance wasn’t confirmed until 2022, when Brodie-Sangster told The Guardian, “Thankfully we’re not too much like Viv and Malc.”
Riley, who was married to Musk twice—once from 2010-2012 and again from 2013-2016— made the announcement on Twitter. That’s right, she announced her engagement on the social media website owned by her ex. Come on, that’s badass.

The former spouses are on good terms, however, as evidenced by Musk’s comment on the post saying, “Congratulations!”
Brodie-Sangster stuck with Instagram to make his announcement and quoted the famous closing line from Love Actually when he did it.
“Happy to announce that Talulah and I are engaged. Love is all around,” the caption read.
If you look for it, I’ve got a sneaky feeling that it actually is.
