Bradley Cooper may have acted the Svengali and dramatically made Lady Gaga go sans fards in order to play a “homely” normal Ally in A Star Is Born, but there was nothing he could do to stop the Gaga-train in real life when it came to the Tiff red carpet event for the movie’s opening. In all her theatrical splendor, Gaga slid like a statue on tiny wheels down the red carpet in an old Hollywood-inspired black Armani Privé gown with her head covered in a gauzy veil like an elegantly evil beekeeper.

I have several things to say about this opulent funereal get up, but of course Ira Madison III beat me to it, and better.

Naturally, the show-stopping dress itself wasn’t enough for Lady Gaga. She also wore a convertible veil that can be lifted by the wearer, et voila! You’ve got a blood-sucking mosquito-repelling shrug; perfect for the independent bride of Dracula at an exclusive haunted nocturnal swamp venue.

Her stunning Chopard jewels also looked like a million bucks, but are apparently worth 20 times that.

Or, make that 50 times more expensive.

Not that you can see them, but here are the shoes she’s wearing. Now it makes a little more sense that her hands seem to be cramping from a severe case of “bitch, don’t fall” rictus.

And not to be outdone, Bradley wore… a brown suit and adjusted his clipper setting down one notch.

Here are all of Lady Gaga’s looks over the weekend.

I guess you can wipe the stage paint off of Lady Gaga, but you can never erase her flair for the dramatic.
