2019 is shaping up to be a stellar year for horror. First, Jordan Peele followed up his jaw-dropping smash hit Get Out with the mind-snapping doppelgänger terror of Us. This summer will bring us new offerings from emerging horror auteurs. The Babadook’s Jennifer Kent will deliver a harrowing thriller set in the Tasmanian wilderness with The Nightengale. Berberian Sound Studio’s Peter Strickland brings us the tale of a dress that kills with In Fabric. Hereditary’s Ari Aster will unfurl cult horror with Midsommar. And this fall, Severin Fiala and Veronika Franz, the twisted minds behind the shriek-inducing Goodnight Mommy, will remind us how the holidays can be murder with The Lodge.

It was meant to be a get-to-know-you trip for Richard (Richard Armitage)’s children (Jaeden Martell and Lia McHugh) to bond with his serious girlfriend Grace (Riley Keough). But what might have been a cheery holiday of family fun soon sours as a blizzard moves in and dark secrets from Grace’s past emerge.

Take a look at the movie that had Sundance audiences screaming:

The Lodge is coming to theaters this fall.
