All’s fair in love and war, but Marvel’s Civil War is a fire that will not burn out.
With D23 wrapped up and Disney continuing their happiest reign of terror on earth over all pop culture and dreams, the geek world had many stories and revelations to digest: New Disney theme parks and rides, trailers for upcoming films, all the stuff about the wars amongst the stars (no Ron Howard though), and, of course, Marvel. Infinity War was revealed, announcements were made for Marvel Land at Disney’s California Adventure, and the stars were brought on stage to be heralded like gods. It was all very cute, and you wouldn’t think a vicious war of words was brewing.
Sebastian Stan and Anthony Mackie had their respective arses whooped by Spider-Man in Captain America: Civil War, and they damn well want you to know Tom Holland ain’t getting away with that as long as they live. This isn’t news to anyone who watched them together on that film’s press tour, reminding every journalist of that punk-ass kid’s problems.
Highlights include:
‘He actually has someone who carries a towel for him…’
‘Every two hours, he has to have a Capri Sun break for his juice box…’
‘He has a handler because he’s, like, eight… And a handkerchief because he’s secretly 87. British.’
D23 saw the war continue, as Mackie played juice box delivery boy.

And Stan and Mackie played the “you can’t sit with us” card.
