In 2007, screenwriter Diablo Cody and director Jason Reitman won hearts and acclaim with the hilarious teen comedy Juno. In 2011, they teamed with Charlize Theron for a ferocious follow-up, the divisive dark-comedy Young Adult. Now, all three reunite for a curious new film called Tully.

Check out the trailer below.

While this teaser may leave you curious about who exactly Tully is, the official plot synopsis fills in some blanks:

A new comedy from Academy Award®-nominated director Jason Reitman (Up in the Air) and Academy Award®-winning screenwriter Diablo Cody (Juno). Marlo (Academy Award® winner Charlize Theron), a mother of three including a newborn, is gifted a night nanny by her brother (Mark Duplass). Hesitant to the extravagance at first, Marlo comes to form a unique bond with the thoughtful, surprising, and sometimes challenging young nanny named Tully (Mackenzie Davis).

So there’s the plot. But it seems that’s still just scratching the surface, right? Reitman’s made a career of blending uncomfortable scenarios with humor and pathos. Cody courts controversy and relishes quirk. And both Theron and Davis seem devoted to picking envelope-pushing productions, from Mad Max: Fury Road and Atomic Blonde, to Always Shine and Black Mirror’s “San Junipero.” So…is it too late to add Tully to our most anticipated movies of the year list?

Tully opens April 20th.
