I think that many of us already know who Takashi Miike is, and we fear him. He’s responsible for some pretty outlandish, and frankly horrifying movies. He’s also an unbelievably talented film maker, which makes for a pretty compelling combination. He directed Audition (reviewed here), a film that you’re definitely never going to forget, as well as other twisted masterpieces like Ichi The Killer. Now, he’s going back to feudal Japan, for his samurai epic 13 Assassins, about a “group of assassins come together for a suicide mission to kill an evil lord.”

Check it:

I was lucky enough to catch the film at SXSW (reviewed here), and I won’t spoil anything other than to say that it’s an amazing, thoroughly satisfying film that you should absolutely see. It’s a story of history, politics, samurai and swordsmen. Watch the trailer. When it comes out, go see it.

That is all.
