A couple of weeks ago, we talked about Myles McNutt, the real-life hero tackling the torturous television phenomenon of the empty coffee cup.
My favorite thing about sharing that video was how many people ended up saying that the empty coffee cup bugs the crap out of them, but that they always thought they were the only one. I sure thought that.
In the comments, a bunch of you shared your other peeves that TV and movie characters are guilty of. Open and unlocked doors and blatantly empty suitcases were big ones. Mine is when characters make dates (and other appointments, but especially dates), because NO ONE EVER SAYS A TIME. It’s always just “Want to get dinner Friday? Okay, see you then.” Are they just waiting around restaurants or outside each other’s homes for hours until the other person shows up, or is there a whole other follow-up phone call when one person remembers they didn’t agree on any details. I always like to imagine that second phone call as being extremely awkward.
I know some of you already shared yours, but if there’s one thing I know about you people, it’s that you won’t turn down the invitation to re-rant. So let ‘em rip; what bugs you?
