I was thinking about “Lost” the other day and yes, I’M STILL PISSED but no, that doesn’t mean I despised the entirety of the show. In fact, until the end, it was one of my favorite shows of all time. I miss the characters and the intrigue, the idea that it was all leading someplace I’d never been before and the funny way my head felt after most episodes. So that’s how we landed here.
Over the years, most people have done the lists of music or books we’d take if stranded on a desert island and it’s time to revisit that Godtopus forsaken place again. We have to go back. But this time, it will be different. This time, we’re taking someone with us. So, for today’s comment diversion, if you were stranded on a desert island which one one “Lost” character would you take with you. Don’t worry about the logistics; like “Lost,” you don’t have to figure it all out until after you’re rescued (or Spoiler!… dead). Just run with the question.
I’d take the original John Locke. Though there are certainly hotter men, Locke and his philosophizing; the way he looked at life and everything around him was just so interesting to me. He went from being a downtrodden sap to a strong, decisive man who believed in himself and the powers of the universe. I don’t think I’d ever tire of contemplating life with him.
Aw, who am I kidding? Desert island, gorgeous beach, two people alone…SEX. Sawyer! Desmond? SAYID: Hot, worldly and a deep thinker. A survivor. My final answer is definitely Sayid. What’s yours? If you didn’t watch “Lost,” I recommend choosing your companion solely by his/her attractiveness. But if you really can’t find delight in a “Lost” companion, name any television character with whom you’d want to be stranded.
