Sci Fi Movies of the Cheesy but Good Variety

I don’t know how we’re going to beat last night’s incredibly revealing comment diversion (oh, Kayanne — we know too much now), but Snuggiepants the Deathbringer is going to at least focus our attention back on movies tonight. She writes:

I’d like to suggest an evening comment diversion on the best old sci-fi movies (1950s and ’60s, specifically), the cheesier the better. The old man and I LOVE that particular genre, but it’s honestly hard to tell from the crappy quality of the DVD covers if the movie is going to be GOOD-bad or BAD-bad. We don’t want bad-bad, so we end up stuck sometimes and it’s hard to find good reviews of sci-fi flicks from that era.

I’m afraid that’s not a genre I’m particularly familiar with beyond Phillip’s “10 Sci-Fi Movies You Should See (But Probably Haven’t)” Guide, so I leave it to you to make some suggestions.
