Last night, Zendaya, Timothée Chalamet, Austin Butler, and Florence Pugh went on Jimmy Kimmel Live to promote Dune: Part Two. Wait, does the Dune sequel hit theaters this weekend? *checks Google* Nope, never mind, it’s not out ‘til March 1 (its original release date was November 2023). Whew, February is going to be a looong month of headlines about Austin Butler’s lack of eyebrows.

Today, our Dune-related headline is about Zendaya and Timothée’s friendship. The pair met in early 2019 when production began on the first film. That same year, Timothée got his very first apartment in New York City, and Zendaya helped him “set it up.” Jimmy asks for details, and Zendaya explains:

“Well, it was um, the vibe was very… teenage boy. And we just needed a few necessities. You know, cups and plates and… knives and forks. Things to clean. We just needed, you know, we needed some structure.”

Timothée chimes in with, “There was a bed. No bed frame.” Jimmy asks Zendaya if she took him to Bed Bath & Beyond, and she answers, “Yeah. We got everything he needed. All the big boy stuff.” Timothée confirms the store “was literally Bed Bath & Beyond,” and Florence very seriously adds, “that’s my favorite shop.”

Alas, Zendaya and Timothée did not use Bed Bath & Beyond’s famous coupons. Jimmy says that it was probably the coupons that put the store out of business last year. Rest in Peace, BB&B.

But back to Timothée’s first home. At the time, the actor would have been 23. Anyone who’s ever gone home with a dude in his early twenties (and mid-twenties… and late twenties… and 30+ if they’re a musician, bartender, or comedian) knows to expect a Spartan-style “teenage boy” apartment.

But if you’re a regular civilian who ends their night with a big-time celebrity like Timothée, I want that experience to be impressive for you. The Academy Award-nominated star of Call Me By Your Name should have a goddamn bed frame, plenty of cutlery, and a fully stocked closet full of toilet paper. So, thank you for intervening, Zendaya. I know Timothée’s hook-ups appreciated your efforts.

Here are the stars of Dune: Part Two on Jimmy Kimmel Live. It’s a fun watch, as long as you plug your ears when Austin Butler uses his Elvis voice (so… every time he speaks). The apartment talk is around 5:28:
