At 22 years old, Zendaya is an astonishing multi-hyphenate. She’s an actress/singer/activist and now a fashion designer. During Paris’s Fashion Week, she presented her first #TOMMYNOW collection for Tommy Hilfiger. And while the looks were an enchanting array of disco glitz and slinky glamor, Zendaya also made a statement with her casting.
Fashion is an industry that’s far from inclusive, too often casting aside women of color and anyone over a size 2. But Zendaya’s runway featured an all-Black cast. That’s 59 Black models, ages 18 to 70, including groundbreakers like Beverly Johnson, Veronica Webb, Beverly Peele, Pat Cleveland, and Winnie Harlow.

When can I buy the entire @Zendaya x @TommyHilfiger collection? She continues to reign supreme as style icon/general icon of our generation. And big ups for bringing some curve to NYFW. â¤ï¸ pic.twitter.com/uy9mKNpF23

And for the final look of the show, the one and only GRACE JONES strutted out on stage. The audience online and off went wild.

I’m still not truly convinced the other night really happened, cause that’s how dreams feel. Our show was a celebration and appreciation for all of the iconic women who fearlessly pioneered and opened doors that are the very reason I’m able to exist in this space…. pic.twitter.com/f8TQXt8k77
