Listen, y’all already know how I feel about The Shatner. The man’s a damned treasure, live-tweeting his favorite shows (Supernatural, Castle, Once Upon a Time), catching Twin Peaks references, and reminding us which food-related day it is:
If you’ve ever seen Shatner’s Raw Nerve, you know he’s a kind and empathetic man, but he does (allegedly) have another side — a Don’t-Cross-Me-or-You’ll-Be-Publicly-Shamed kind of thing — so I’d caution anyone on reporting Shatner speculations as fact. Case in point, the recent spate of media whispers that Original Kirk will be making his J.J. Abrams Star Trek film debut in the director’s third outing. Suddenly, everyone was deep-analyzing The Shat’s every word (“I’m back”), and the actor quickly went on the offense:
The reporter’s direct mea culpa…
…was soundly rejected; The Shat has no patience for your bullshit, man.
He scolded The Hollywood Reporter too, although a little less harshly.
And on that day, a valuable Shatlesson was learned by all.
To thwart necessitating further reprimands, Shatner has pinned his final frontierwords on the matter:
Kirk (allegedly) out.
