A Theory on an Affair That Drove Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Apart From Prince William and Kate Middleton

Friends, I had company in town this weekend, and as such, I hauled her a*s over to the Venice Beach boardwalk so that I could point out the apartment where Romy and Michele lived. Since I live on the other end of town, and we parked at Santa Monica Beach—it took us 20 minutes to get out of the parking garage, and 30 minutes to get out of Santa Monica. Now, you’d think this would be rage-inducing, but not so, because my friend (the one I showed that not-a-porno to, once) was there and reading aloud Nicole Cliffe’s tweet regarding the alleged affair between Prince William and Kate Middleton’s best friend—and how it possibly impacted the relationship between the Cambridges and the Sussexes.

Now, before we go too far down this rabbit hole, I want to stress to you that this is entirely speculation and rumor, with a healthy dose of “well, it makes sense, so…?!” thrown in for good measure. Some of the speculation can be backed up with other slightly dodgy sources, but ultimately this is an alternate theory as to why the relationship between Wills and Harry has gotten frosty as of late, although one can never underestimate “racism” and “hatred of women” as a good enough reason for the press to have thrown Meghan Markle so soundly under the bus for the past months. You can follow the thread here — and a note, you can see all of these tweets here, at Nicole Cliffe’s account.

As you can see, the thread was long, and…a lot, right? For the TL/DR set: The theory is that basically, Wills catted around on Kate with her friend. He told Harry. Harry is pissed at Wills as a result because their father did that to their mother. And thus the frosty relationship between the couples, which has been covered extensively by the media around the world, only the media blames the distance between the couples on Meghan and Kate because, by default, the media blames women.

Again, I want to stress that none of this is fact, and neither I, nor Nicole Cliffe, are trying to pass this off as anything but conjecture. That said, last week, the royal “news” was that Kate had completely cut off Rose from her social circle.

Additionally, the most Royals-friendly publication in America, People, doesn’t have a whiff of any scandal and hasn’t addressed any fall-out between Rose and Kate that I can tell. People has addressed the Kate/Meghan feud, and yet they haven’t touched this?!

So, you may be wondering why we’re publishing these tweets and crafting a post around this, which very well may be a nothingburger—friends, ultimately the answer is very simple. The way Meghan Markle has been treated by the press has been disgusting, vile, and steeped in misogyny and racism. Painted in the English press as the woman who came between two brothers, the fact that this narrative has continued for so long, while potentially an unrelated root cause is to blame, sends a very disturbing message to the public: Kensington Palace would much rather have misogynistic and racist rumors out there than have the perception be that the heir apparent is a sh*tty person and takes after his father when it comes to infidelity. I mean, just check out this headline from Marie Claire, today:

For those of you old enough to remember when Prince Charles and Diana were married (or when Diana was alive) it’s very reminiscent of the “Crazy Di” narrative at the time—basically that to the press, Meghan, and to a much lesser degree, Kate, just can’t get it together. Ha ha ha, isn’t that a riot?! Don’t remember? Here are some contemporary tabloid covers from the National Enquirer to remind you of the f*ckery that Diana went through from the age of 20 (the age she was when she was engaged to Charles, who was 32 at the time) and her death at the age of 36:

Even in death, the boys were “Di’s” when something went wrong, putting the blame at her feet from beyond the grave.

The point is, for reasons unknown *cough* the ingrained hatred of women in society *cough* it’s always better, in the press, to make gossip about the failings of women rather than the f*ckery of men. The rumors circulating between the Sussexes and the Cambridges are just yet another fine example of that. Same old s*it, just different women to throw under the bus. Wash, rinse, repeat. Grin and bear it, and never let the real truth be known. Princess Charlotte has a lot to look forward to, doesn’t she?!

Let’s give the last word to Diana who, unsuccessfully, tried to step away from her charity work in order to have a more “private life” after getting away from Kensington Palace (just look at her face and the slight pause when she mentions it in the clip.) You know how this story ends.
