Why Does Kim Kardashian Do This to Christmas?

I want to ignore the entire Kardashian section of pop culture, I really do. However, sometimes People.com makes it so I can’t and thus, here we are today.

Picture it, there I was minding my own business, wondering aloud to myself “who the hell are all these people?!” while I browsed People.com because I am no longer hep or jiggy wit’ it, as the kids say because there’s a bunch of influencers who now make get on the site when Jennifer Aniston is laying low for the holidays. Anyway, there I was when I saw something that seemed like a cool, eco-friendly way to wrap gifts—some neatly packaged presents in cloth wrapping. If you can manage it, it seems like a sustainable way to reuse wrapping every year. Then I read more into it, and…man, why does Kim Kardashian do this to Christmas?

I’ll let People.com explain:

“West holiday wrapping this year!” the mother of four wrote along with a photo of several gifts wrapped in the beige-colored cloth coverings.

“Each year every family member picks a color and vibe so we know who the gifts are from. This year we chose creamy velvet,” the Skims designer, 39, added.

So, first off, I will never get over how Kardashian “decorates” for holidays. (Jodi covered her Halloween house of horrors earlier this year.) Apparently she is allergic to any shade that could remotely be considered a color—case in point, her white and grey and very much photoshopped Christmas card this year.

Second, and more importantly, this seems even more wasteful than traditional wrapping paper because the family picks new fabric every year. People called this “a green approach” but how the hell is that green when it’s not getting reused? It’s just doubly wasteful!

I don’t understand why Kim Kardashian does this to Christmas. I’ve made my thoughts on the matter very clear, but I believe Christmas should be a colorful, loud, chaotic, and over the top holiday. Why does she make it beige and wasteful, man?!
