Because of the lockdown, many haven’t seen family or friends for months. Many had to cancel vacations, birthday parties, and even weddings because it was a flat-out hazard to have them. That is unless you have the kind of insane wealth that allows you to get many rapid COVID tests and fly all your loved ones to an exotic private island. That’s what Kim Kardashian West did for her 40th birthday. Celebs! They really aren’t like us.
On Twitter, Kardashian West shared pics from the glamorous, mask-free event.
For my birthday this year, I couldn’t think of a better way to spend it than with some of the people who have helped shaped me into the woman I am today. pic.twitter.com/sSZVCdbKH9

After 2 weeks of multiple health screens and asking everyone to quarantine, I surprised my closest inner circle with a trip to a private island where we could pretend things were normal just for a brief moment in time. pic.twitter.com/cIFP7Nv5bV

We danced, rode bikes, swam near whales, kayaked, watched a movie on the beach and so much more. I realize that for most people, this is something that is so far out of reach right now, so in moments like these, I am humbly reminded of how privileged my life is. #thisis40 pic.twitter.com/UYOcVBpytW

Yeah. I’m speechless. Thankfully, the good people of Twitter are not. Already, they’ve turned one of these eyebrow-raising captions into a Mock The Rich meme.
