Spoilers?

Actual footage of my 15-year-old daughter and me at the end of the first episode of The Mandalorian:

Judging by Twitter and my Facebook feed, ours was the default reaction to seeing a tiny baby Yoda pop up at the end of the episode.

I think we all know, deep down inside, that precious Baby Yoda is a way to sell toys. I think we all know, we don’t give a f**k. MORE BABY YODA.

Surprisingly, —or actually, not at all— famed director and The Mandalorian star Werner Herzog shared his unique take on acting alongside Baby Yoda.

This interview snippet is one of the most Werner Herzog things I can think of, taking the idea of a puppet flanked by puppeteers on a set and seeing it as a heartbreakingly gorgeous and emotional component of life. I both relate to and stand in awe of Herzog’s take, allowing one to bask in the beauty of things when they are created for art, regardless of who is funding the project.

Still, I look forward to that sweet, sweet merch. (Unrelated, I plan to name my next puppy Werner Herzdog.)
