Doomscrolling can be enticing. You keep looking through the internet, reminding yourself why the world we live in is a hot pile of garbage. It is important to stay informed, but the human brain can only withstand so much doom and gloom. At a certain point, we need a little happiness injected into our timeline. We, as people, are allowed to take a moment and watch someone happily achieve their dream.
Lamorne Morris has been acting for over 20 years. He’s probably most known for his role on the hit show New Girl. However, Morris has nailed several scene-stealing roles during his extensive career. He fits right in with the hilarious ensemble cast in Game Night. The actor will portray Garrett Morris in Saturday Night, the upcoming SNL film. But, it’s his part in the fifth season of Fargo that brings us to him today.
Morris managed to stand out in the crowded fifth season of the hit FX show. While I would argue his character wasn’t given much to do during the season, Morris still managed to make his performance memorable. Juno Temple delivers a career performance. Jon Hamm settles nicely into his role as a hypocritical and “manly” sheriff. There is great work all around! Yet, Morris walks in and delivers a performance so stellar he earned his first Emmy nomination.
The actor had a camera on him when he learned about his award chances. His young daughter sweetly laughs at him as he cries for his success. It’s fantastic. I cried watching it. Something about it felt imperative to share with everyone today. Look how happy he is! It’s unbridled goodness. Someone who has worked so hard for so long, getting the recognition that they truly deserve. Way to go, Lamorne.
