Was Ronda Rousey Brought Down by The Madden Curse?

Ronda Rousey lost her first fight last night to Australian Holly Holm. She was brought down in the second round by a kick to the head. On Friday, she had just been announced as the cover athlete for EA Sports second UFC game as shown in the header. Now, whether or not you believe in the Madden Curse there’s definitely been an interesting correlation with their cover athletes and serious injuries. Then again, playing professional football also has a high correlation with suffering serious injuries. And being a UFC fighter has a strong correlation with being knocked out via a kick to the head.

So far UFC has been pretty stringent with shutting down videos of the game, but the images speak for themselves and look pretty brutal. Strangely enough, she had predicted what move would bring her down prior to the fight (Warning: Vine includes actual kick to the head footage):

Rousey was taken to the hospital immediately following the fight, but reportedly did not suffer any serious injuries. I am sure that there will be a highly publicized rematch in the future, available only through pay-per-view, to allow Rousey to reclaim her title. Or get kicked in the head again. Definitely one of those two things.
