Trump Responds To NBC Firing By Doubling Down On Racist Remarks

About two weeks after Trump made incredibly racist remarks about Mexicans, NBC has dumped the Donald with this statement:

“At NBC, respect and dignity for all people are cornerstones of our values. Due to the recent derogatory statements by Donald Trump regarding immigrants, NBCUniversal is ending its business relationship with Mr. Trump.”

The network has co-owned Miss USA and Miss Universe with the bigoted wannabe president for about a decade, but those pageants will no longer air on NBC. And while Celebrity Apprentice may continue, it’d be without Trump.

Just a reminder, Trump actually said in his bid for the Presidency that Mexicans are “sending people that have lots of problems, and they’re bringing those problems to us. They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists.” And he’s not backing down on these comments.

The bloated anger bag released a statement saying, “If NBC is so weak and so foolish to not understand the serious illegal immigration problem in the United States, coupled with the horrendous and unfair trade deals we are making with Mexico, then their contract violating closure of Miss Universe/Miss USA will be determined in court. Furthermore, they will stand behind lying Brian Williams, but won’t stand behind people that tell it like it is, as unpleasant as that may be.”

But that’s not all. Trump is already claiming he wasn’t fired. It was his choice to leave.

“They did not want me to run,” He said of NBC, “They wanted me to do The Apprentice. And now with my statements on immigration — which happen to be correct — they are going to take a different stance and that’s OK. Whatever they want to do is OK with me. As far as ending the relationship, I have to do that because my view on immigration is much different than the people at NBC.”

Hilariously, even the Miss Universe organization is trying to distance themselves from their owner, Trump. In a statement, they said, “The Miss Universe Organization is built on a foundation of inclusion and continues to be a celebration of diversity and of all cultures…This year’s Miss USA contestants represent many different ethnic backgrounds, including six Latinas (four of whom are of Mexican descent).” Miss USA will go on, but may not be aired on television.

The downside to all this is that it is giving Trump a platform to continue to spew his racist bile. The upside is that bile is costing him some seriously substantial business ties with Univision and NBC. Hopefully it will also cost him the Republican nomination in 2016. But right now he’s got the #2 spot behind Jeb Bush, with 11% of the CNN/WMUR New Hampshire Primary poll.

Kristy Puchko wonders if Trump’s sure-to-fail presidential bid will be a reality TV series in 2017.
