It’s been two months and one Armie Hammer split since we last looked in on the celebrity break-up cycle (no Jennifer Grey and Clark Gregg!), because Trump has taken even that away from us. But ahead of tonight’s debate, let’s take a moment to pour one out for a number of other celebrities who have split from their significant others since the middle of August.
First up, Lake Bell and her husband Scott Campbell are divorcing after 7 years of marriage and two children. The split is amicable.
Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour and her husband of 20 years have also broken up, although it turns out that they actually separated years ago.
I have no idea what this Insta post is supposed to mean, but it at least confirms that Jessie J and Channing Tatum have also broken up, after having broken up last year and then reconciled early this year. Rebounds never work!
Taraji P. Henson has confirmed that she and her fiancé, former NFL player Kelvin Hayden, have also broken off their two-year-engagement.
After a one-year engagement, meanwhile, Jonah Hill splits from fiancée Gianna Santos. Rob Riggle, who has two teenage children with his wife, Tiffany, are divorcing after 21 years of marriage.
Finally, Phil Collins has also broken up with his third wife. Again. They divorced in 2008, but had reconciled in 2016 and were spending time together during lockdown. However, she broke it off with Collins via text over the summer because she secretly married someone else. She refused to leave their Florida home, however, so Collins served eviction papers. In turn, Orianne Cevey and her new husband changed the alarm codes, blocked the surveillance cameras, and hired heavily armed guards. She’s demanding $20 million before she’ll leave the home. She received $46 million from Collins in 2008 as part of their original divorce settlement.
Over in Slack, we were actually considering trying to tell that entire saga in Phil Collins’ lyrics, but decided we didn’t want to take that joy away from our commenters (also, I got lazy). I will say, however, that I’ve had Phil Collins songs stuck in my head for two days straight because of this story. I am not complaining.
