If you’re following the The Act like basically everyone with a Hulu subscription is, you’re probably well aware of who Gypsy Rose Blanchard is, and the hell she was put through at the hands of her mother (who was murdered by Gypsy Rose and her then-boyfriend Nicholas Godejohn.)
If not, well, go take the time to read this excellent Buzzfeed article on the situation because it is well worth your time.

Gypsy Rose Blanchard is currently incarcerated for the murder of her mother, but she’s still managed to find love. It was reported by InTouch Weekly that Gypsy Rose is engaged to an unnamed man, which was revealed by family friend Fancy Macelli:
“She keeps him very private,” Fancy told In Touch. “We’re not going to release his name or anything like that, but she does have a fiancé. That’s something she wouldn’t have ever been able to do with her mom, be engaged!” According to the By Proxy writer, he “goes and visits her” quite often in prison and they talk “at least several times a week if not more.”So you’re probably wondering how Gypsy met this mystery man, because Tinder doesn’t seem like it would be allowed in a prison.
Well, they met through a pen pal program for inmates:
He started writing her and then visited her,” Fancy shared. “They just grew to have a relationship.” But despite the fact that they’re already engaged, they’re not getting ahead of themselves just yet. “They’re taking it slow. They don’t know exactly what they’re going to do when she gets out. It’s a long way down the road, obviously, so things can change.”
Finally, unlike her previous relationship with Nicholas Godejohn, this relationship is completely out in the open, with the fiancé having spoken to, and written, Gypsy Rose’s father and step-mom, Rod and Kristy Blanchard. Per Fancy, at some point, they plan to meet him in person, which is a far cry from the secret video chats Gypsy Rose was forced to have with Godejohn, due to her mother’s abuse and isolation.
There is no word yet on when the couple plans to marry, but Gypsy Rose is not eligible for parole until 2024, so it will probably be a long engagement.
