I will admit that I have not always been the biggest Taylor Swift fan, I found her awards show reactions to be cheesy and inauthentic and her music was a bit too juvenile for me to enjoy. But she’s always been a very sweet person, and her promotional work for her album 1989 has shown that she’s gotten somewhat savvier in selling herself and has also apparently discovered Tumblr. This all came together in a scheme to invite her biggest fans over to hear her new album a month before it was released. How did she find these fans? By cyberstalking them for months. I’m not joking, here she is on Graham Norton talking about it, and Graham’s assessment of the body count of these listening sessions where multiple fans “literally died.”

John Cleese was also on that night, and gave her a bit of shit about her cat and while she doesn’t exactly find her feet right away by the end of the discussion she seems to be a little better at handling his variety of pointed ribbing.

Related: John Cleese and my brother have virtually identical cats, black Maine Coons, and I enjoy this fact immensely.
