Stephanie Clifford, who performs under the name Stormy Daniels, was arrested last night at a strip club for doing strip-club things. Officers arrested Daniels for … touching customers. And by that, I mean, she shook her boobs in the faces of customers, including male and female police officers.
In other words, she was arrested for being a stripper at a strip club.
Here’s the police affidavit:

What’s interesting here is that one police officer observed Daniels “smack” her breasts in the faces of several customers and three officers before he decided, “Oh! That’s enough!” It’s unclear to me if the officers were in uniform or not, although Daniels’ lawyer, Michael Avanetti, seems to believe this was a politically motivated sting operation.
Just rcvd word that my client @StormyDaniels was arrested in Columbus Ohio whole performing the same act she has performed across the nation at nearly a hundred strip clubs. This was a setup & politically motivated. It reeks of desperation. We will fight all bogus charges. #Basta

She was arrested for allegedly allowing a customer to touch her while on stage in a non sexual manner! Are you kidding me? They are devoting law enforcement resources to sting operations for this? There has to be higher priorities!!! #SetUp #Basta

My client @StormyDaniels will issue a plea of “Not Guilty” to the three misdemeanor charges.

Was this politically motivated? Did the police officers arrange themselves so as to allow Stormy Daniels to “smack” them with her breasts? Or was the arresting officer just a Puritanical buzzkill? And should I be calling a police officer who discourages strippers from fondling customers a Puritanical buzzkill? Was that police officer a Trump supporter who used what was probably a seldom applied law to arrest Daniels?
Man, I just don’t know. This whole thing is twisting my brain around. I don’t like strip clubs. They make me super uncomfortable! The idea of men fondling strippers seems … not OK! But a stripper doing what a stripper does? I’m not bothered by that! Is it because of my own political biases? I don’t know! I’m very confused!
What seems obvious, however, is that this arrest was dumb, and I suspect in any other similar situation, the officer — at worst — would say, “Hey now! Back up. That’s not allowed.” But best I can tell from the affidavit, the first three officers did not do that. But then again, you can’t exactly argue that the officers were “asking for it,” by virtue of being in a strip club, can you? Maybe they were in uniform, and maybe they were just doing their jobs, and maybe they didn’t want to have a stripper “smack” them around with her breasts?
It’s a very confusing time, y’all.
Anyway, Daniels faces three misdemeanor charges. She’s cancelled her performance in Columbus tonight.
Official Statement From @StormyDaniels: As a result of what happened last night, I will unfortunately be unable to go forward with tonight's scheduled performance. I deeply apologize to my fans in Columbus.
