Sophie Turner Sues Joe Jonas to Force the Return of their Two Children

When kids get involved, a gossipy celebrity mess often turns into a sad one, and that’s precisely the case with Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas. Turner has recently sued Jonas to force the return of their two children, claiming they are being “wrongfully detained” in New York City.

In her Manhattan court filing, Turner asserts that the couple decided earlier this year to make England their “forever home,” and therefore, the children should be returned to London. Jonas, however, is reportedly refusing to surrender the kids’ passports.

The couple had planned to make England their permanent residence, entering into an agreement to purchase a house there in July. The move-in date was set for December, but they broke up before then. Meanwhile, the children were in America with Jonas and a nanny while Turner worked on a television show in England.

Originally, Turner was supposed to return to New York in mid-September to retrieve the children and bring them back to England. Jonas contends that their divorce nullifies the original plan.

According to the petition, Jonas filed for divorce on September 1st in Florida after a fight with Turner on August 15th. Turner only learned about the divorce when the media reported it on September 5th. Whatever one might think about the merits of the petition, using the media to inform your spouse of a divorce is bullshit.
