In a recent interview, Seth Rogen said that he has no plans to reunite with former collaborator James Franco following multiple accusations of sexual misconduct made against the actor. In 2018, Franco was accused of forcing several of his acting students into sexual situations. A lawsuit relating to the allegations was settled in February.

Rogen told the Sunday Times he has no plans to work with Franco right now, and that the allegations of sexual misconduct ‘has changed many things in our relationship and our dynamic.’

‘I also look back to that interview in 2018 where I comment that I would keep working with James, and the truth is that I have not and I do not plan to right now,’ Rogen said. When asked if the allegations against Franco affected their personal relationship as much as their professional relationship, Rogen said, ‘I don’t know if I can define that right now during this interview. I can say it, um, you know, it has changed many things in our relationship and our dynamic.’ When asked if that was painful for him, he replied, ‘Yeah. But not as painful and difficult as it is for a lot of other people involved. I have no pity for myself in this situation.’

Rogen also expressed regret over a joke he made while guest-hosting SNL that made light of a 17-year-old girl’s allegation that Franco had contacted her over Instagram for a meet-up: ‘I do look back at a joke I made on ‘Saturday Night Live’ in 2014 and I very much regret making that joke. It was a terrible joke, honestly.’

This interview comes as actress Charlyne Yi called out Rogen over the ‘toxic’ behavior that took place during the making of Franco’s film The Disaster Artist, which Rogen produced. Yi said she tried to quit the movie because of the allegations against Franco. She singled out Rogen by name for being among Franco’s ‘enablers.’

Rogen says he has no plans to work with Franco, but a quick gander on IMDb shows that both men are listed as executive producers on the upcoming miniseries Pam & Tommy, which Rogen also stars in. But it is worth noting that executive producer credits are often flimsy at best and more about name-only connections to a project rather than actual involvement. There may be more tangled professional ties between the two men in need of severing.
