Fans of RuPaul Drag Race know Katya Zamolodchikova as the outrageous season seven queen who boasted jaw-dropping gymnastics alongside gonzo humor, and a big, beautiful heart of gold. Her popularity scored her the Miss Congeniality honor, along with a spot on RuPaul’s Drag Race: All Stars’ second season, the webseries UNHhhh alongside Trixie Mattel, and ultimately the pair’s playful Viceland series, The Trixie & Katya Show. However, last January, Katya took a break from the spotlight, temporarily leaving her TV show and getting off social media to engage in some self-care. But now, she’s back! And we couldn’t be happier.

Brian Joseph McCook, the handsome man behind the fierce and fucked up queen that is Katya, has returned to Twitter. There, he not only is sharing his warm and wild comedy once more, but also cheeky messages about self-love, tackling your demons, and not taking life so seriously.

Every day without fail, Katya’s sharing something that makes me smile, cackle, or holler, “YAS QUEEN!” So this is simply an appreciation post, because Katya needs no crown to win thirsty hearts and twisted minds! She is the queen who represents those of us who battle our inner demons (be they anxiety, self-doubt, loneliness, or addiction) yet rally, and laugh like everyone’s already dead.
