I know that we’ve been a bit, um, unenthusiastic about the speedy courtship and seemingly mismatched pairing of pop star (and formidable celebrity impersonator) Ariana Grande and Saturday Night Live’s Pete Davidson. The pair met when Grande hosted SNL in March 2016, but each were dating other people at the time. Two years later, Grande broke up with Mac Miller on May 10 and Davidson followed days later by breaking up with Cazzie David. By May 20 of this year, the two were obviously a couple and the media went bonkers speculating on whether the relationship was a double rebound or pointing to Davidson’s borderline personality disorder as proof it was just a phase. BPD is characterized by impulsivity and a fear of abandonment, prompting much speculation about its role in the relationship’s speed.

Before the end of May, the pair had matching tattoos and were complimenting, defending, and documenting each other on a near-constant basis. Mid-June brought news of their engagement and wedding planning for nuptials next year. We will not lie about the side-eye we gave the rush to the altar. Then we saw this:

Grande’s response to the TMI reply was the same supportive and loving one she always has for Davidson:

And she’s always willing to unleash the fury at anyone being less than lovely to her beloved:

And we are all ON BOARD. These two are ride or die until it’s got her walking side to side and we at Pajiba are rooting for them. I’m an ordained minister and I would be PROUD to officiate the wedding of Grande and Davidson while wearing a Harry Potter robe, a cat onesie, or whatever the hell these beautiful lovebirds have in store for what will be THE WEDDING OF 2019. Ariana, CALL ME. Well, tweet me.
