I don’t know much about Blake Shelton. He’s a country singer. He’s a coach on The Voice. He’s dating Gwen Stefani, and he’s an alleged Trump supporter. He had also never had sushi until a recent appearance on The Tonight Show.
Yesterday, I saw that he apologized for a few old tweets.

My first thought was, “Oh man. What are we getting outraged about now?” That seemed like a sincere apology. How bad could those old tweets really be? Let’s cut the guy a brea … Oh, oh shit. He said that?

Dude. That ain’t “comedy.” That’s the trifecta: Sexism, xenophobia, and homophobia and that last one was retweeted over 1,000 times. Those aren’t jokes. Some of that’s hate speech, and I don’t think I’m being an overly sensitive SJW to suggest that there’s no universe in which those are funny tweets. It’s straight-up bigotry.
