Nick Carter Talks Up Backstreet Boys/Spice Girls Tour, Shows He's Still Got Moves

For those of us who came of age in the late 90s, we can all remember the golden age of boy and girl groups in pop music that we got to experience first hand. It seemed nearly impossible to put out a single unless you could convince 2-4 other people to get together with you in terrible matching outfits that inevitably featured leopard print or pleather. It was a heady time that none of us are likely to forget soon. And perhaps that nostalgia tinged with embarrassment is why we’re such suckers for things like vague promises of a Backstreet Boys/Spice Girls tour (which will never happen, Victoria Beckham has moved on).

But even with that bittersweet knowledge in our hearts, it’s still easy to remind us of a younger, more carefree era. A time where the height of fashion involved sparkly butterfly clips and faux fur. A time when a boyband could release an album proclaiming they were “back” a mere year after their debut album. A time when a young man could ask “Am I sexual” while wearing a terrible werewolf costume and we would all answer “Yeaaaaa-aahhhh.” And that young man is now 35 years old, and still has those questionably sexual moves. (Dancing starts at about 1:48.)

Thank you, Nick Carter, for your tireless dedication to bringing Backstreet back.
