Look, I’m pretty sure Ive been nursing my Ralph Fiennes crush longer than some of you Harry Potter readers have even been alive. After running to see Hail, Caesar! this weekend — and as Rebecca mentions, this Ralph/Alden Ehrenreich scene is worth the entire ticket price —
I came to the same realization I have many times before. No matter how ridiculously bad the make-up people might make Ralph look,
however handsome or silly or droll the part; regardless of how smart or gallant he plays,
I will always think of Ralph in a very particular way. He’s stuck in my brain, circa Strange Days.
Right after Quiz Show and Schindler’s List, and just before that monolith of blah — The English Patient — that broke Julia Louis-Dreyfus’ Elaine, this glorious cover alerting the uninitiated to Ralph’s official Hollywood arrival came out:
My friends, that is some forkin’ amazing hair.
Before then and since, no matter what he ever has done or will do, that cover is forever etched in my brain. I just want to make sure none of you EVER FORGET.
You’re welcome.
