Michael Che Should Go On An Apology Tour

Michael Che is kind of a dick. I know that, you know that, I even think Che knows it too. He has said some truly stupid things in the past. Like his reaction to a viral video in which a woman was walking around New York City where she was being constantly harassed and catcalled. He issued an “apology” in the only way he knows how: poorly.

Turns out, his apology wasn’t a one off kind of thing. Sometimes, he doesn’t even apologize at all. Last Thursday Che appeared at Boston University, where he stood by a comment he made on SNL the night before the Super Bowl.

The comment? “I just want to relax, turn my brain off, and watch the blackest city in America (Atlanta) beat the most racist city (Boston) I’ve ever been to,” Che remarked.

Che said he received a lot of angry messages on social media after making the statement, including one from a woman who was particularly upset. But rather than explaining himself, Che said, he responded with this: “Talk to your closest black friend and ask them to explain it to you.” To which she responded: “Touché.”

Should Che apologize to Boston? Who cares. I feel confident in saying that an overwhelming number of Bostonians could not give two shits about Michael Che, let alone A shit over who he is in the first place. If we demand apologies from Che, let’s demand apologies for the following:

- Che not giving a shit about Trump’s racism, saying “He said some racist things; some of his policies are racist in spirit. Is he a racist?”

- For putting Seth Meyers lower than Jimmy Fallon “What Seth does, he’s doing at a really, really high level right now. And what Jimmy does, he’s doing at an extremely high level.”

- Miller Lite Lip Balm

- The War of 1812

- The Trumps

- His perceived sexism

- A third season of True Detective

- WHATEVER THE FUCK THIS BULLSHIT WAS

- The new Justice League trailer

- For saying this on SNL:
