There are loads of reasons why we love Kathy Najimy.

She slayed us with Hocus Pocus, Sister Act, King of the Hill and those silly and satirical sketch specials she did with Mo Gaffney. (“Angels” is a favorite of mine.) Then there’s her feminist advocacy, like when she raised $50k to fight gender apartheid in Afghanistan by kicking ass on The Weakest Link. Or when she strove to destigmatize abortion by sharing why’d she’d once made that choice. Also, forever this:

Now to our lengthy list of reasons we adore Najimy, we add that she’s raised a fierce young artist in her own image.

Meet Samia.

She’s a New York-based singer, who’s on the rise. And this girl’s got a voice that’s big and bold—like her momma’s—yet uniquely her own. Check it:

For more go to Sound Cloud.

The 19-year-old’s a budding feminist.

I’ve decided this is a nod to her momma’s big Peggy Hill moment.

She shares our crush on Cara Delevingne.

And this smart cookie has an enviably adorable bond with her magical mom.

We’re with People. Samia is one to watch. And we’re with Samia on loving Kathy Najimy.

Kristy Puchko wonders if Hocus Pocus was a Halloween tradition in the Najimy household like it was in hers…
