Meagan Good Opens Up In Her Interviews With Hoda Kotb, Jenna Bush Hager, and Shannon Sharpe

Actress Meagan Good has been trending this week due to a couple of recent interviews. She spoke with Shannon Sharpe on his Club Shay Shay podcast, and with Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager on Today with Hoda & Jenna.

On Club Shay Shay, Meagan discussed the beginning of her acting career and how she received some valuable advice from Terrence Howard regarding working in film and television.

Meagan responding to Shannon’s question as to whether films like Friday and Think Like A Man could be made today:

What was it like for Meagan to work with Mo’Nique, who had a lot of memorable things to say during her own interview on Club Shay Shay?

Meagan also discussed the pay discrepancies that Black actresses like she and Taraji P. Henson have dealt with before, and continue to deal with to this day.

She also pointed out that Tyler Perry was the first person she dealt with on a project who was willing and able to surpass her asking price.

What does Meagan have to say about Katt Williams (who started the year by using his Club Shay Shay interview to inspire everyone else to bring hateration to the dancery), and who referred to her partner, Jonathan Majors, as someone who is not very attractive, and is the reason why he stays away from white women:

That was all Meagan was willing to say to Shannon about her relationship with Jonathan Majors. She only offered slightly more detail about it when speaking to Hoda and Jenna, and explained that she wouldn’t let the opinions of her family and friends stop her from following her heart and doing what made her happy, no matter how many of them were asking, “Oh no baby, what is you doing?!”

“The support we’ve been able to give to each other, the pouring into each other, the honest conversations, the love, the respect, just the care, and the thoughtfulness, it’s been really wonderful,” Good said.

In December 2023, a jury found Majors guilty of two of the four counts of assault and harassment charges that were brought against him related to a March 25, 2023 incident between him and his ex-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari. Majors did not testify at the trial.

When asked if her personal circle suggested that she wait to get into a relationship with the Creed actor amid his pending trial, Good said on TODAY with Hoda & Jenna, “every friend advised me.”

“At the end of the day, one thing I know is that I can always look myself in the mirror when I trust my spirit, when I trust God, when I ask God, when I move to the beat of my own drum — I can always look and say, ‘I’m proud of that,’” she said. “Whatever happens, I have peace in my heart, and I have harmony in my heart.”

Good added that, though she respects the opinions of her friends and family, she does not like to make choices based on “what someone else is saying.”

“I take everyone’s opinion and advice into account, for sure, but at the end of the day, I’m the one who has to live my life. I’m the one who has to get to Heaven one day, prayerfully, and give God an account of what I did,” she continued. “So, I want to be responsible for the choices that I make. I also want to live the life that I want to live.”

Good and Majors originally sparked dating rumors in May 2023 after being photographed together. She walked hand-in-hand with Majors at his appearance at Manhattan Criminal Court in June 2023, and was also by Majors’ side during his court appearances from August to December 2023.

Meagan Good and Jonathan Majors walking the red carpet for Good’s newest film, Tyler Perry’s Divorce in the Black, meant there were also more opportunities for Black Twitter to talk about them and crack jokes, especially when it came to Majors.
