If you had to be on a TV show, what kind of TV show would it be? Probably something travel or food oriented, right? Nothing too technical or that required too much research, but that let you go somewhere you’d always wanted to, enjoy some things you wouldn’t necessarily if you were paying for it yourself, and let you take a good friend along for the ride. So, you’d want to make The Wine Show, a new series on ITV starring Matthew Goode and Matthew Rhys

They’ve rented out an Italian villa, and sit there in the beautiful landscape while wine experts do the hard work of finding and bringing them fancy wines to taste. We joke a lot about Adam Sandler making movies in exotic locations as a sneaky way to get paid to take vacations, but I think this is far better. No huge production crew, no scripts to memorize, just the Matthews, the villa, and a steady supply of excellent wines. And doesn’t it look lovely to watch? Just some low key, handsome guys in great moods talking about wine. It looks like the best stress reliever on TV. Everything about this is wonderful. I can’t even work up the energy to be jealous, because they both look so delighted by all of it. The show will be 13 episodes long and I’m sure all of them will be quietly amazing.
