Lily Tomlin, Chris Hemsworth, and Ron Howard All Baffled by Scottish Accent on Graham Norton

Last night on The Graham Norton Show the guests were Chris Hemsworth, Ron Howard, Lily Tomlin, and Scottish comedian Kevin Bridges. Despite the super-star Hollywood guests on the couch, an amazing amount of time was spent on Kevin Bridges. Particularly on his accent which Lily Tomlin found almost completely incomprehensible, with Chris Hemsworth doing slightly better and Ron Howard keeping his mouth shut. To get you started off, here’s Bridges talking about the time his dad missed the Orient Express.

So that’s the level of accent we’re working with. It’s pretty thick, but I find that the longer I listen to it the better I am at deciphering it. Apparently this is not the case for some of the other guests on the couch.

And even when Graham tries to get the focus on Hemsworth, Tomlin brings things back around to Bridges and trying to understand what he had been previously talking about.

So apparently as far as The Graham Norton show goes, if you can’t bring multi-million dollar star power, you can at least bring an interesting regional accent. That’ll get you all the time and attention you could want.
