Former Scientologist and King of Queens/Kevin Can Wait actress Leah Remini has been trying to burn her former cult/religion to the ground for several years now. As part of that effort, Remini has highlighted and given platforms to several women who accused Scientologist and That 70’s star Danny Masterson of raping them. In fact, Remini’s A&E series docuseries Scientology and the Aftermath was meant to conclude with interviews of Masterson’s accusers last year, accounts that the Church of Scientology tried to suppress and that didn’t air until two-and-a-half years after they were originally scheduled to air.

Yesterday, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office finally charged Masterson — who had been under investigation since 2017 — for three rapes he allegedly committed in his home in the early 2000s. Masterson, who was fired from The Ranch over these allegations, released a statement through his lawyer denying the charges, saying that they were a “complete shock,” and that “The people who know Mr. Masterson know his character and know the allegations to be false.”

Leah Remini knows him, and she would respectfully disagree.

Remini was a member of the Church of Scientology from the age of 9 until 2013. In addition to three seasons of her docuseries, Remini has also published a memoir, Troublemaker: Surviving Hollywood and Scientology.
