Larry David Thinks White People Are Pretending to Like 'Hamilton' to Appear 'Hip'

Hamilton. It’s the show no one can stop talking about and many of us have sold eggs and major organs to get tickets to. But is its popularity due to liberal street cred and and desperate white efforts to be cool FOR ONCE IN OUR GODDAMN LIVES?

That’s what Larry David thinks. He thinks we’re all just faking it to be woke and/or bae. Because what in the world could possibly be cooler or more hip than a Broadway musical about American history?

“I have a feeling there are a lot of white people who are saying they are completely blown away even though they didn’t really understand half of the things the people on stage were saying,” David told the Daily News columnist. “They just want to solidify their liberal bonafides and how cool they are: ‘Yeah, I love Hamilton. Yeah, I get it, I’m hip.’”

If people are pretending to like Hamilton to be cool, if THIS is a barometer for being hip? Well, how lucky we are to be alive right now.

Also, hey, white people? Can we go five minutes without making something about us? Please? Can we not take credit for Hamilton’s success and leave it for the Pulitzer-winning future EGOT and his cast please? Thanks.
