Kick Kennedy Has Been Waiting in the Ben Affleck Wings Since Covid

Ben Affleck’s team has been working overtime to deny reports that he’s been “hanging out” with Kick Kennedy for at least the summer (if not longer), so naturally, that plan backfired because the two have been cavorting around a town powered by gossip. People are going to notice when a famous movie star is spotted with the young daughter of a political nutjob, who also happens to belong to one of the most prominent dynasties in America.

As for why Affleck’s team would care, well, he’s not looking so hot after Jennifer Lopez finally filed for divorce. She stopped playing nice and has let her own team off the leash, and they’ve been reading Affleck for absolute filth. They blew up the narrative that he was caught off guard by her documentary (He produced and pushed for the damn thing.), exposed his complete abandonment of JLo’s kids after they got very close to Affleck children (She has notably taken great pains to maintain that relationship.), and presumably, they’re behind the recent outing of his alleged romance with Kick that doesn’t seem very hidden.

According to a new report from Page Six, Kick and Affleck’s connection pre-dates his relationship with Ana de Armas. In fact, it sure seems like Kick was angling to play house with Affleck during the lockdown until he crossed paths with the Knives Out star:

“Their friendship has been going on for a while, even before Ana,” one Hollywood insider told Page Six. “When Ben started seeing Ana in 2020 and chose to quarantine with her during Covid, Kick was less than thrilled.”

After things got rocky with wife Jennifer Lopez earlier this year, Affleck got back in touch with Kick, we’re told, and they struck up their friendship again.

This revelation follows reports that Kick and Affleck have been spotted at the Polo Lounge in Beverly Hills for a solid chunk of the summer. However, before Page Six outed that they’ve been interacting since at least Covid, his team not only denied that they’re dating, but in a dab of overkill, went so far as to claim that the two have never even met.

“There is no truth to any of it,” Affleck’s spokesperson Jen Allen told PEOPLE. “I don’t know if they even know each other.”

Nice work, Jen. That’ll do the trick.

Now, inevitably, someone is going to barrel into the comments yelling, “How is this any of our business?” If I may: It’s not! The entire point of celebrity gossip is to kill time at work, in the checkout line, or waiting for a root canal. No one’s making you read it. I’m just trying to grease the wheels of people’s day here. Sometimes, I do that with Deadpool and/or Deadpool’s wife.
