Save for a couple of times around the holidays that he has reprised his character of Frank Underwood on YouTube, we haven’t seen Kevin Spacey in the last few years because the world rightfully canceled him. That cancellation, however, has given Kevin Spacey some very special insight into our pandemic.

See: Millions and millions of people around the world have lost their jobs. Kevin Spacey knows what it is like to lose a job! That apparently makes him a qualified expert to speak to the experience of losing everything with a group of German businessmen. He spoke from his home to a German business conference called Bits & Pretzels.

Here’s what he had to say (via The Wrap):

I can relate to what it feels like to have your world suddenly stop. I don’t think it will come as a surprise for anyone that my world completely changed in the fall of 2017. My job, my relationships and my standing in my own industry were gone in just a matter of hours,” Spacey said. “And so while we may have found ourselves in similar situations albeit for very different reasons, I still feel that some of the emotional struggles are very much the same. And so I do have empathy for what it feels like to suddenly be told that you can’t go back to work, or that you might lose your job, and it’s a situation you have absolutely no control over.”

Wow! It’s like the exact same experience. Millions of people have lost their jobs, their livelihoods, and in some cases, their identity because of a deathly virus completely out of their control, which is just like when Kevin Spacey lost his career because of numerous allegations of sexual misconduct.

“I don’t have to tell any of you the resilience it takes to keep going in the face of all those people who want to remind us that we are heading down the wrong road,” Spacey tells the business people from his home. You mean, all those people, like, Anthony Rapp and the fourteen others who accused Spacey of assault?

“I think we do have a lot in common,” he continued. “I mean, let’s face it. We’re all a little bit crazy, right?”

The only “crazy” thing here is that some company is paying Kevin Spacey for these insights.
