The popularity of NBC’s The Office apparently continues unabated if people whining about the availability of episodes on streaming services is any indication. Although it has been seven years since the series ended, fans continue to quote, re-watch, and cackle at the faux-documentary sitcom. It makes a lot of sense that Brian Baumgartner (Kevin Malone) is launching a new podcast on Spotify called “An Oral History of The Office.”

I’ve teamed up with Spotify to give you a show that features interviews with the cast and creators, and reveals some never-before-heard stories from the people who knew the series the best. The 12-episode podcast will be available exclusively on Spotify on 7/14. Immersive, intimate, emotional and elevated, the podcast pulls back the curtain on what went into creating this unstoppable force in American popular culture and shares the theories as to why it remains such an important part of the cultural zeitgeist.

To promote the new look at the series, Baumgartner took to Reddit for an IAMA, answering questions about chili, Kleenex boxes, and few words work good.

Castmates Jenna Fischer (Pam) and Angela Kinsey (Angela) already have a podcast where they rewatch the series and provide behind-the-scene insight about them with guests like John Krasinski and Oscar Nunez. Called “Office Ladies” over at Earwolf, Baumgartner assures us that his podcast will be different.

You can listen to the trailer for the podcast here. It sounds like all of the cast and creators were very on board with this endeavor and I look forward to July 14 when it hits Spotify!
