Hearing the name Leslie Jordan may not spark that instant pop of recognition, but I’m guessing a photo of the 64-year-old, 4’11” actor will:

Now you know him. Jordan has been on Will & Grace, American Horror Story, Star Trek: The Next Generation, starred in The Help, and in countless commercials, movies, and television shows throughout his long career.

His voice is like a warm hug from a Southern nana ushering you to her kitchen to “eat up, you look skinny” and “here’s some cold lemonade, you must be parched” before telling you stories from her childhood. That voice — and his fantastic sense of humor — is on full display in his Instagram account (@thelesliejordan).

Like all of us, Jordan is struggling with boredom during the stay-at-home orders in place in several states in the US. Unlike us, he’s hilarious and not afraid to share stories about his time as an actor, his days of drinking and drugs (he once shared a jail cell with Robert Downey Jr.), and anything that pops into his mind.

He’s just delightful and has the right mix of goofiness and entertaining to cut through all of the morose bullsh*t happening right now. If you have Instagram, definitely go follow him. I promise he’ll make your days brighter.
